Designer Options
Hidden by default to keep the line list readable. Every line keeps its own height, alignment, bold weight, and Same row grouping while the controls are out of sight, including the settings a saved template or an imported design brings with it. A new line starts at 30 dots, left aligned, not bold, on its own row.
A placeholder with nothing to substitute prints this many spaces rather than disappearing, holding open a gap on the printed label wide enough to write the missing value in by hand. It sizes every gap the Numbering section leaves: {#} with no Step #, {total} with no # of labels, and any variable whose typed value or spreadsheet cell is empty. Eight spaces suits a carton number written in marker; raise it for longer entries, or set it to 0 to print nothing at all and close the gap.
Label and Printer
Line spacing multiplies each line height to set the gap between rows and between wrapped rows inside one line. 1.0 is tight, 1.5 is the default, and 3.0 spreads a short label out. Centering moves the whole stack of lines down together and keeps the spacing between them, which suits a label carrying only one or two lines. Shrink text to fit, unticked until chosen, reduces every line height by one common factor until the design sits inside the label, never going below 40 percent of the set heights; left unticked, text that runs off is named in Checks and would print cut off.

Preset Values
A preset turns the Text Lines and Numbering boxes into pick lists drawn from a sheet of approved values, so a run cannot go out carrying a mistyped address or department. It is not the bulk data file below: a bulk row prints one label, while a preset row is one combination every label is allowed to use.

Narrow by:
Columns map themselves on load: a header named Text B claims that line, a column whose values open the way a line already does claims it next, the columns beside a match carry on down the lines, and a sheet that matches nothing falls back to column order, first column to Text A. Every mapping is a dropdown, so anything it guesses can be changed. A column left on Not used still narrows the rest, which is how a customer column filters addresses that never name it.
A locked input suggests as you type and refuses what the sheet does not carry, so typing a store name or a city lists every value holding it anywhere, and only one of those can be committed. Picking a value narrows the other inputs to the rows that agree with it and fills in any that are left with a single possibility; Show all options, which appears on any list a pick has narrowed, puts every row back on offer. An input holding something the sheet cannot account for turns red on the form, with the reason on hover, as well as being named in Checks. PO# lines and # of labels stay typeable: on a PO# line only the first group of digits answers to the sheet, so the run number after it is yours. Step # locks only when a column is mapped to it. Uploaded values stay available on later visits and are cleared by Reset.

Verify before a production run: scan a printed label with a real scanner. Barcodes and MaxiCode symbols here are built to their published specifications and machine-checked, but printer, ribbon, media, and darkness decide whether a label actually reads on the line.
