Reductions are interpolated from wind speeds measured behind windbreaks of four densities, published by University of Nebraska-Lincoln Extension (EC02-1763, How Windbreaks Work). They describe a long, continuous windbreak at right angles to the wind. The published figures start at 5 barrier heights (5H) downwind, so closer points show the 5H value, and no reduction is reported beyond 30H.
