What the Service is

Kaltask is a free web library of calculators, converters, generators, and small analysis utilities. Each tool answers one specific question. There is no account system, no paywall, no subscription, and no user-generated content surface. You can use any tool anonymously from any modern web browser.

The calculators run client-side in your browser. Inputs you type, files you upload for conversion, and intermediate values are processed in your browser tab. Apart from a small amount of anonymous usage telemetry described in the Privacy Policy, the data you enter into a tool is not transmitted to us.

Accuracy and use of results

We build the tools to be correct and we document the formulas we use on each tool page (see our Methodology). Even so, the results are provided for general information only. They are not financial, medical, legal, engineering, or other professional advice.

Tools that touch high-stakes domains (retirement projections, drug dosing, structural loads, tax estimates, blood alcohol, pregnancy timing, and similar) produce estimates based on standard published formulas and the inputs you provide. They are not a substitute for a licensed professional. Always confirm important decisions against authoritative sources and consult a qualified specialist when the outcome matters.

If you spot a calculation that looks wrong, please tell us and we will investigate. Reported errors are tracked and the relevant tool page is updated when the fix ships.

Acceptable use

You may use the Service for personal, educational, and commercial purposes, including embedding screenshots of results in client deliverables, course materials, or articles. When you reproduce a result, attribute the tool by name and link to its page where reasonable.

You agree not to:

  • Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service or any related infrastructure without prior written permission.
  • Send automated traffic that overwhelms the site, including unthrottled scraping, parallel request floods, or denial-of-service patterns.
  • Republish the tools as your own or relabel them for distribution without a license from us. The underlying code is not open source.
  • Use the Service in ways that violate applicable law in your jurisdiction, or that facilitate violations of law by others.
  • Attempt to bypass the rate limits, security headers, or content security policy of the site.

Crawling for legitimate search-index, accessibility-audit, or AI-training purposes is permitted within the limits declared in our robots.txt. Respect the directives there.

Intellectual property

The Kaltask name, logo, site design, tool source code, documentation prose, glossary entries, and category descriptions are owned by Alkyrie and protected by copyright and trademark law. The underlying mathematical formulas, established conversion factors, and public-domain reference data the tools use are not owned by anyone and remain freely usable.

Several tools load third-party JavaScript libraries from public CDNs to do their work, including Chart.js, SheetJS (xlsx), and a small number of others. Those libraries are governed by their own open-source licenses, which apply alongside these Terms when you use the affected tools.

Third-party services and links

Some tools display third-party advertising provided by Google AdSense, link out to external references, or load utility libraries from public CDNs. We do not control third-party content, accuracy, or availability, and we do not endorse any specific third-party product or service that may appear in an ad slot or external link.

Service availability and changes

We aim to keep the Service available continuously, but we do not guarantee uptime. We may modify, retire, or replace any tool at any time, typically because a better formula is published, an underlying data source changes, or a tool is consolidated into a more complete successor. Where reasonable we leave the previous URL in place with a note pointing to the replacement.

Disclaimer of warranties and limitation of liability

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that every calculation result is suitable for your specific situation.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Alkyrie and Kaltask are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill arising out of or related to your use of the Service. Where liability cannot be excluded under applicable law, our aggregate liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim, which for the public Service is zero.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms when the law changes, when we add a substantial new feature, or when an existing provision becomes unclear. The effective date at the top of this page is updated on every change. Continued use of the Service after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. The exclusive venue for any dispute is the state or federal courts located in King County, Washington, and you consent to personal jurisdiction there.
