What we collect

The site collects three categories of data, each described below:

  • Request metadata. When your browser requests a page, our server records the request method, URL, response status, a truncated IP address, user agent string, and timestamp. This data is used to keep the site online, block abusive traffic, and diagnose errors. Logs are rotated and the truncated IP is dropped after 30 days.
  • Anonymous tool usage counts. The backend records that a tool was viewed (path and timestamp only, no user identifier) so the “Popular” and “Trending” lists can be ranked. No association with you as an individual is created or stored.
  • Cookie consent preferences. Your choices in our cookie banner (analytics on or off, marketing on or off) are stored in your browser’s localStorage so we honor them on subsequent visits. The consent record stays in your browser only.

We do not run a registration or account system, we do not ask for your name or email address to use a tool, and we do not build a profile of you across visits.

How the calculators handle your inputs

Each calculator runs as a small self-contained page inside your browser. Values you type into the form (income figures, body measurements, dates, text to encode, files you upload for conversion) are processed by JavaScript in your browser tab. They are not transmitted to our servers as part of the calculation.

Most tools save your most recent inputs in your browser’s localStorage so the form is pre-filled the next time you open the same tool. This data lives on your device and is scoped to the kaltask.com domain. Clearing site data in your browser clears the saved values. Each tool documents what it stores in its “How To Use” section, including any Reset action that erases the saved state.

A small number of tools fetch public reference data over the network as part of their function (for example, the “What Is My IP?” analyzer queries a public IP lookup endpoint, and the XML-to-CSV converter uses a public CORS proxy for arbitrary user-supplied URLs). The relevant tool page lists the third-party endpoint it calls. Those endpoints have their own privacy policies.

Cookies and similar technologies

The site itself sets no first-party tracking cookies. Your theme preference (light or dark) and cookie consent choices live in localStorage, not in cookies. Third parties may set cookies in the contexts described below: analytics (if you opt in), advertising (if you opt in and AdSense is enabled), and the Cloudflare edge proxy that sits in front of the site for security and performance.

You can review and change your choices any time from the Privacy Center, and the underlying details are documented in the Privacy Transparency Hub. We honor your browser’s Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track signals where applicable.

Third-party advertising and Google AdSense

Kaltask uses Google AdSense, a third-party advertising service provided by Google LLC, to display advertisements on this website. Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies, including the DART cookie and other identifiers, to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites on the Internet.

Google’s use of advertising cookies enables Google and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to our site and other sites on the Internet. You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google’s Ads Settings, or by visiting www.aboutads.info to opt out of any third-party vendor’s use of cookies for personalized advertising.

We may also use other third-party advertising and analytics partners, including Google Analytics. These partners may use cookies and similar technologies (such as web beacons and pixel tags) to collect information about your use of the website, including pages visited, time spent on the site, and links clicked, in order to measure ad performance and tailor advertisements. For a complete list of the third-party vendors we use and to manage your consent preferences, visit our Privacy Center.

Personalized advertising on this site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 for advertising purposes.

If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, our advertising partners process personal data on the legal basis of consent collected through our cookie banner. You may withdraw consent at any time via the Privacy Center linked above.

What we share, and what we never share

We do not sell your personal information. We do not rent it. We do not trade contact lists with anyone, because we do not have a contact list: there is no account system. We do not pass the inputs you type into a tool to any third party.

The only data third parties receive is the data you knowingly route through them by choosing to enable analytics or advertising cookies: the cookies set by Google Analytics, Google AdSense, and our consent management partner. That data is governed by their respective privacy policies, linked from the Privacy Center.

Children’s privacy

The Service is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The tools themselves are safe for any age to use, but personalized advertising and analytics are not enabled for visitors we believe to be under 13.

For visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland we process personal data on the following legal bases:

  • Consent: for analytics cookies and for personalized advertising delivered through Google AdSense and any other third-party advertising partner.
  • Legitimate interests: for security logging, abuse detection, anonymous tool-usage counts, and basic site performance monitoring. These uses do not require consent because they are necessary to operate the site and the impact on you is minimal.

Data controller

Alkyrie is the data controller for personal information processed through Kaltask. Contact for privacy inquiries: support@alkyrie.com. Put “Privacy” in the subject line so the right person picks it up.

International data transfers

The site is hosted in Germany on Hetzner infrastructure. Requests are routed through the Cloudflare global edge network, so data may be processed in the country nearest your location before reaching our origin server. Where data is transferred from the EEA or UK to a country without an adequacy decision, we and our processors rely on the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards.

Your rights

Subject to applicable law you have the following rights over personal data we hold about you:

  • Access: request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correction: ask us to update inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Deletion: ask us to erase the data, subject to our security and legal-retention obligations.
  • Restriction: ask us to limit the processing of your data while a request is being investigated.
  • Objection: object to processing that relies on our legitimate interests.
  • Withdraw consent: turn off analytics or marketing in the Privacy Center any time, with no effect on the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.

Because we do not run an account system, most rights requests turn on the request metadata in our server logs. Email support@alkyrie.com with “Privacy Request” in the subject. We respond within 30 days (45 days for CCPA requests, with notice).

California residents (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act gives you additional rights over personal information businesses hold about you:

  • Right to know what personal information we collect, use, and share.
  • Right to delete personal information, with certain exceptions.
  • Right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information.
  • Right to non-discrimination for exercising your privacy rights.

Notice of right to opt out of sale of personal information

We do not sell your personal information. California law requires us to provide an opt-out mechanism even where no sale occurs.

Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information →

Categories of personal information collected:

  • Identifiers: truncated IP address and browser user agent from request logs.
  • Internet activity: pages visited, anonymous tool-usage counts, opt-in analytics events.
  • Geolocation data: country and region inferred from IP address.

Purpose of collection: operate the Service, keep it secure, measure aggregate usage, and (with your consent) deliver relevant advertising.

Data retention

Request logs are rotated after 30 days. Anonymous tool-usage counts are retained indefinitely in aggregate form (counts only, no identifiers) so that long-term trends remain meaningful. Cookie consent choices live in your browser’s localStorage and persist until you clear site data or revoke consent in the Privacy Center.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS with HSTS enabled. The application enforces a Content Security Policy, frames tool code in a sandboxed iframe, and runs behind Cloudflare for DDoS protection and rate limiting. No security measure is perfect; if you discover a vulnerability, please email support@alkyrie.com with “Security” in the subject line.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

We update this policy when the law changes, when we add or remove a vendor, or when the way data flows through the site materially changes. The effective date at the top of this page is updated on every change. Material changes are summarized at the top of the page for at least 30 days after they take effect.
