A commission calculator computes earnings on one or more sales under a flat commission rate or a tiered bracket structure, producing both individual and aggregate commission figures along with optional tax withholding and base salary integration.

Flat rate applies a single percentage to every sale. Tiered brackets escalate: each bracket has a minimum threshold, a maximum threshold (uncapped if left blank), and a rate, and brackets apply marginally, so only the portion of a sale that falls within a bracket is taxed at that bracket's rate. A $15,000 sale with a 5% tier up to $10,000 and a 10% tier above $10,000 yields $500 on the first $10,000 and $500 on the remaining $5,000, for $1,000 total. Marginal application matters because taxing the full sale amount at the top bracket's rate would overpay commission on tiered structures designed to reward incremental sales, not replace the lower tiers entirely.

Each sale entry takes an amount and an optional description. Dollar signs and commas are stripped automatically, so "$12,500" and "12500" are equivalent inputs. Results report total sales volume, total commission, and the effective commission rate across all deals.

Settings holds a base salary that adds to commission for gross earnings, a tax withholding percentage deducted from gross earnings, and a step-by-step view that reveals the formula derivation for each sale.
