Enter balance sheet figures to obtain five key liquidity ratios that measure a company's ability to meet short-term obligations. The calculator accepts decimals, fractions, mixed numbers, and scientific notation in every field. Dollar signs, commas, and percentage symbols are stripped automatically before parsing.

  • Enter the total value of all assets expected to convert to cash within one year into the Current Assets field. This figure drives the current ratio and net working capital calculations.
  • Enter liquid holdings such as bank balances, money market funds, and Treasury bills into the Cash and Cash Equivalents field. This value feeds the quick ratio and cash ratio.
  • Enter marketable securities and other investments that can be liquidated quickly into the Short-term Investments field. The quick ratio and cash ratio both include this amount in their numerators.
  • Enter amounts owed to the company by customers into the Accounts Receivable field. The quick ratio adds this to cash and short-term investments to measure near-liquid coverage.
  • Enter the cost of goods held for sale into the Inventory field. Inventory is excluded from the quick ratio because it may not convert to cash quickly, but it remains part of current assets for the current ratio.
  • Enter all obligations due within one year into the Current Liabilities field. Every ratio uses this figure as its denominator, so it must be greater than zero to produce valid results.
  • Enter net cash generated from core business operations into the Operating Cash Flow field. This value is typically found on the cash flow statement and is divided by current liabilities for the operating cash flow ratio.
  • Click Calculate to compute all five ratios. Results update automatically after a brief pause when you change any input, but the button provides a manual fallback.
  • Click Reset to clear every field, remove saved data from local storage, and restore the calculator to its initial state.
  • Open the Settings panel to adjust the number of Decimal Places shown in results. Enable Show step-by-step formulas to view the symbolic formula, your substituted values, and the computed result for each ratio.

The five formulas are as follows. Current Ratio = Current Assets / Current Liabilities. Quick Ratio = (Cash and Cash Equivalents + Short-term Investments + Accounts Receivable) / Current Liabilities. Cash Ratio = (Cash and Cash Equivalents + Short-term Investments) / Current Liabilities. Net Working Capital = Current Assets - Current Liabilities. Operating Cash Flow Ratio = Operating Cash Flow / Current Liabilities.

Liquidity ratio analysis applies across industries and organizational sizes whenever stakeholders need to evaluate short-term financial health. The five ratios computed here each reveal a different layer of liquidity, from the broadest measure of current assets against current liabilities down to the most conservative cash-only view.

  • Credit Analysis: Lenders reviewing a loan application can enter the applicant's balance sheet figures to determine whether current assets provide adequate coverage of short-term debt. A current ratio below 1.0 signals potential difficulty meeting upcoming obligations.
  • Investment Research: Equity analysts comparing two companies in the same sector can run each firm's numbers through the calculator to see which maintains a stronger quick ratio. Excluding inventory highlights whether a company depends on selling goods to stay solvent.
