Operational efficiency ratios turn income statement and balance sheet figures into profitability, turnover, and cash-cycle measures. Only the fields available need filling in; every ratio that can be derived from what is entered is computed, and every field accepts decimals, fractions (3/4), mixed numbers (5 1/2), and values with dollar signs or commas, which are stripped automatically before processing.

Revenue and cost of goods sold give gross profit margin, (Revenue minus COGS) divided by Revenue times 100, and the COGS-to-revenue ratio. Operating income alongside revenue gives operating margin, Operating Income divided by Revenue times 100, the share of revenue remaining after operating costs. Operating expenses give the operating expense ratio, Operating Expenses divided by Revenue times 100, the share of revenue spent running the business. Net income with revenue derives net profit margin, and net income with total assets derives return on assets (ROA), how effectively assets generate profit.

Total assets give asset turnover, Revenue divided by Total Assets. Current assets and current liabilities give working capital turnover, Revenue divided by the difference between them. Average inventory with COGS gives inventory turnover, COGS divided by Average Inventory, and days inventory outstanding (DIO), Average Inventory divided by COGS, multiplied by the days-in-year setting.

Accounts receivable with revenue gives days sales outstanding (DSO), and accounts payable with COGS gives days payable outstanding (DPO). When all three day-based ratios can be computed, the cash conversion cycle appears automatically as DIO plus DSO minus DPO.

Settings hold the decimal precision, the days-in-year value used by the day-based ratios, and a step-by-step view that shows the symbolic formula, the substituted values, and the final answer for each ratio.
