A percent off calculator turns an original price and a discount percentage into the exact savings and final price. Values can be entered as standard decimals, fractions, or mixed numbers, which handles percentages like 33 1/3 that do not convert cleanly to decimals.

Original price accepts decimals (49.99), fractions (125 3/4), and values with dollar signs or commas ($1,299.00), all stripped automatically. Percent off accepts whole numbers (25), decimals (12.5), fractions (1/3), or mixed numbers (33 1/3), with percentage symbols stripped if included.

The result is two values: You Save, the dollar amount of the discount, and Final Price, the price after the discount is subtracted. Settings hold the number of decimal places, defaulting to two to match standard currency formatting, and a step-by-step view of the formula substitution.

Discount Amount = Original Price x (Percent Off / 100), and Final Price = Original Price - Discount Amount.
