Time Clock Calculatorv1.0.0

Sums work hours per entry as clock-out minus clock-in minus break, treating clock-out earlier than clock-in as crossing midnight. Daily and weekly totals split into regular and overtime using configurable thresholds (default 8 hours per day, 40 per week, multiplier 1.5×), and an optional hourly wage produces an estimated-pay line. Entries accept 12-hour or 24-hour times, breaks accept fractions or decimals, and the full timecard imports or exports as CSV.

Documentation

Track your work hours accurately with this time clock calculator. Enter your daily clock-in and clock-out times along with any break duration to compute your total hours worked. Both 12-hour and 24-hour time formats are supported, with regular hours, daily overtime, and weekly overtime computed automatically based on configurable thresholds. Enter an optional hourly wage to see a pay estimate for the period.

  • Click Add Entry to create a new row for each work period. Each row includes a day selector, clock-in time, clock-out time, and break duration in minutes.
  • Select the day of the week from the Day dropdown. You can add multiple entries for the same day if you work split shifts.
  • Enter your Clock In and Clock Out times using the time input fields. Overnight shifts where the clock-out time falls earlier than the clock-in time are detected automatically and treated as crossing midnight.
  • Enter any unpaid break time in the Break (min) field. You can enter fractions such as 30, 1/2 (interpreted as 0.5 minutes), or decimals like 45.5. Break time is subtracted from total hours for that entry.
  • Open the Settings panel to configure overtime thresholds. The default daily overtime threshold is 8 hours, the weekly threshold is 40 hours, and the overtime multiplier is 1.5x. Adjust these to match your local labor regulations or employment agreement.
  • Enter your Hourly wage in settings to see an estimated gross pay calculation that accounts for regular and overtime rates.
  • Click Calculate or simply edit any field to trigger automatic recalculation after a short delay. Results appear instantly in the summary section below the entries.
  • Enable Show calculation breakdown in settings to view a detailed daily report showing hours worked, break deductions, and overtime allocation for each day.
  • Use Export CSV to download your time card data as a spreadsheet-compatible file. Use Import CSV to load previously exported data back into the calculator.
  • Click Reset to clear all entries and restore default settings, starting fresh with a single blank row.

Calculate work hours for payroll processing, freelance billing, compliance auditing, and personal time management. Employees, managers, freelancers, and contractors who need to track hours across a week can use the calculator to verify pay, plan shifts, and maintain accurate time records.

  • Hourly Employees: Enter daily clock-in and clock-out times each week to verify that your paycheck accurately reflects hours worked and overtime earned. Compare your records against your employer pay stub before signing off.
  • Small Business Owners: Track employee hours without purchasing expensive time tracking software. Export weekly time cards as CSV files and import them into your payroll system or spreadsheet for processing.
  • Freelancers and Contractors: Log billable hours for client projects. Set the overtime threshold to zero if all hours are billed at the same rate, or configure a premium rate for rush work exceeding agreed-upon weekly limits.
  • Restaurant and Retail Managers: Calculate shift hours for staff who work variable schedules with split shifts. Add multiple entries per day to capture morning and evening shifts with breaks in between.
  • Compliance and Auditing: Maintain accurate time records to demonstrate compliance with labor regulations regarding maximum daily or weekly work hours and mandatory overtime pay rates.
  • Students and Interns: Track part-time work hours to ensure you stay within visa or academic program limits. Export a weekly summary to submit to your school or program coordinator.
  • Construction and Trades: Log hours across different job sites throughout the week. Use the day-by-day breakdown to allocate hours to specific projects when billing multiple clients.
  • Remote Workers: Record your actual working hours when working from home to maintain accountability and ensure you are compensated fairly for all time spent on work tasks.
