Type quantities as decimal numbers (2.5), simple fractions (3/4), or mixed numbers (1 3/4 or 1-1/2). The parser detects the format automatically and converts the input to a numeric value before applying the correct conversion factor.

For volume-to-weight and weight-to-volume conversions, the converter applies common ingredient densities. All-purpose flour uses 0.53 grams per milliliter, granulated sugar uses 0.85, butter uses 0.91, and water uses 1.0. Type the ingredient name to load its specific density when available. Unknown ingredients fall back to a default density of 1.0 grams per milliliter, which is accurate for most water-based liquids.

  • Select Conversion Direction: choose Metric to Imperial, Imperial to Metric, or Cross Convert for automatic detection.
  • Enter the ingredient name to apply the correct density during cross-type conversions.
  • Enter the quantity as a decimal, simple fraction, or mixed number.
  • Select the source unit from the metric or imperial dropdown.
  • Click Add Ingredient to convert multiple items in one batch.
  • Click Convert All to process every row, or enable Auto-calculate in Advanced Settings for instant results.
  • Use Import CSV and Export to CSV to save and reload ingredient lists for repeated recipes.

Adjust the result format from the Advanced Settings panel. Set decimal precision between one and four digits, show the density used for each conversion, or disable auto-calculate to control when results update.
