Crypto Mining Profitability Calculatorv1.0.0
Estimate daily, monthly, and yearly cryptocurrency mining profits from hash rate, power consumption, electricity costs, and current network difficulty. Includes built-in presets for eight proof-of-work coins and a custom mode for unlisted blockchains, with optional step-by-step formula breakdowns that show how each value is derived.
Documentation
Estimate your cryptocurrency mining profitability by entering your hardware specifications, electricity costs, and current network conditions. The calculator supports popular proof-of-work cryptocurrencies with built-in presets, and also allows fully custom coin configurations for newer or niche blockchains.
- Select a cryptocurrency from the Cryptocurrency dropdown. Choosing a preset automatically fills in typical values for hash rate, hash rate unit, power consumption, network difficulty, block reward, block time, and coin price. Select Custom to enter all parameters manually for any coin not listed.
- Enter your mining hardware's Hash Rate and select the appropriate Hash Rate Unit (H/s, KH/s, MH/s, GH/s, TH/s, or PH/s). Input supports decimals, fractions (3/4), mixed numbers (1 1/2), and scientific notation (1.5e3).
- Enter the Power Consumption in watts for your mining hardware. This value determines your daily electricity costs.
- Set the Electricity Cost per kilowatt-hour in your local currency. The default is $0.10 per kWh. Adjust this to reflect your actual electricity rate for accurate results.
- Enter the Pool Fee percentage if you mine through a mining pool. Most pools charge between 0.5% and 3%. Set to 0 for solo mining.
- Update the Coin Price, Network Difficulty, Block Reward, and Block Time fields with current values from your preferred blockchain explorer or mining pool dashboard.
- Enter your total Hardware Cost to calculate the break-even timeline for your mining investment.
- Click Calculate to view your profitability breakdown by day, month, and year. Results update automatically as you change inputs.
- Open Settings to change the currency symbol or enable step-by-step calculation display showing the formulas used.
- Click Reset to clear all saved data and restore default values.
The core formula computes daily coins mined as (Hash Rate x 86,400 x Block Reward) / (Network Difficulty x 2^32). Revenue equals coins mined multiplied by the current coin price. Profit equals revenue minus electricity costs and pool fees. Break-even time divides hardware cost by daily profit.
Evaluate mining profitability across different scenarios, hardware configurations, and market conditions to make informed decisions about cryptocurrency mining operations.
- Hardware Evaluation: Compare the profitability of different ASIC miners or GPU setups before purchasing. Enter the specifications of each device to determine which offers the best return on investment given your electricity rate.
- Electricity Cost Analysis: Determine the maximum electricity rate at which mining remains profitable. Adjust the electricity cost field to find your break-even electricity price for each cryptocurrency.
- Cryptocurrency Comparison: Evaluate which proof-of-work cryptocurrency generates the highest profit with your existing hardware. Switch between presets to compare Bitcoin, Litecoin, Monero, and other coins side by side.
- Mining Farm Planning: Scale calculations for commercial mining operations by entering the combined hash rate and total power consumption of multiple mining rigs to project monthly and yearly returns.
- ROI Timeline Planning: Calculate how long it takes to recover your initial hardware investment. Enter the full cost of your mining setup to see the break-even point in days, accounting for electricity and pool fees.
- Pool vs Solo Mining: Compare profitability between pool mining with typical fees and solo mining with zero fees to decide which approach works better for your hash rate relative to the network.
- Market Sensitivity Analysis: Adjust the coin price to simulate different market conditions. Determine the minimum coin price needed to maintain profitability at your current operating costs.
