PDF Rotate Toolv1.0.0
Rotate individual pages or an entire PDF document by 90, 180, or 270 degrees and export the result as a PDF, PNG, or JPG file. Single-page image exports download directly while multi-page exports bundle into a ZIP archive, and all processing runs client-side with no server upload.
Everything you enter is processed on your device. This tool loads a code library from cdnjs.cloudflare.com and unpkg.com, which sees your IP address but never what you type.
Documentation
Rotate pages within a PDF document and export the modified result as a PDF, PNG, or JPG file. All processing happens directly in the browser, so no files are uploaded to a server and your documents remain private throughout the process.
- Click Select a PDF file and choose a PDF from your device. The tool reads the file and generates thumbnail previews of every page.
- Select a Rotation Mode. Choose Rotate all pages to apply the same rotation angle to every page in the document, or choose Rotate pages individually to set a separate angle for each page.
- When rotating all pages, pick the desired angle from the Rotate clockwise dropdown: 90 degrees, 180 degrees, or 270 degrees. When rotating individually, a dropdown appears next to each page preview where you can assign a different angle per page or leave specific pages at zero degrees (no rotation).
- Choose the Output format. Select PDF to produce a rotated PDF document. Select PNG or JPG to render each page as an image file. A single-page PDF produces a direct image download. A multi-page PDF bundles all images into a ZIP archive for download.
- Click Rotate and Export to begin processing. A spinner indicates progress while pages are rotated and rendered. The browser then prompts a file download once the operation finishes.
- Open Settings to adjust image export options. Image resolution scale controls the pixel density of PNG and JPG output, with 1x producing screen-resolution images and 3x producing high-resolution images suitable for print. JPG quality sets the compression level from 0.1 (smallest file) to 1.0 (highest fidelity). These settings do not affect PDF output.
- Click Reset to clear the uploaded file, remove all previews, and restore every option to its default value. The tool returns to its initial state ready for a new file.
- Rotation angles follow the clockwise convention: 90 degrees turns a portrait page to landscape with the top edge facing right, 180 degrees flips the page upside down, and 270 degrees turns it with the top edge facing left.
Correcting page orientation is a frequent step when working with scanned documents, exported reports, and assembled PDFs from multiple sources. Below are scenarios where per-page and whole-document rotation solve real workflow problems.
- Scanning and Archival: Fix a batch of scanned receipts where the scanner captured some pages sideways. Upload the resulting PDF, switch to per-page mode, and set each misaligned page to 90 or 270 degrees before exporting a corrected PDF for long-term storage.
- Legal Document Preparation: Rotate landscape-oriented exhibits in a court filing so every page reads in portrait orientation. Export as PDF and attach the corrected file to the electronic filing system without installing desktop PDF software.
- Architecture and Engineering: Convert wide-format floor plans embedded in a PDF into individual PNG images rotated to match the standard north-up orientation, then insert them into a presentation or report at a chosen resolution scale.
- Education: Prepare lecture slides originally saved as a landscape PDF by rotating them 90 degrees and exporting as high-resolution JPG files. Students can then view individual slide images on tablets or phones without a PDF reader.
- Publishing and Prepress: Receive a manuscript PDF with several chapters rotated incorrectly after merging. Rotate only the affected chapters using per-page mode and re-export the entire document as a single corrected PDF ready for the print queue.
- Photography: Export contact sheets from a photo-management app as PDF, rotate the entire sheet 180 degrees to match the printing template orientation, and download the result as a high-resolution PNG for the print lab.
- Administration: Combine expense reports and invoices into one PDF, then fix any upside-down or sideways pages before sharing the file with the accounting department.
