Fractions & Decimals Calculatorv1.0.0

BigInt-backed rational arithmetic on fractions, mixed numbers, decimals, and repeating decimals with no floating-point drift. Addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and integer powers (negative exponents allowed); decimal output detects repeating cycles and writes them as 0.(3) or 1.2(34). A second tool rounds any value to the nearest 1/2 through 1/256 and renders it as reduced fraction, mixed number, percent, scientific notation, and LaTeX.

Documentation

Type the whole number followed by a space and the fraction. For example, enter 2 1/3 for two and one third or -1 3/4 for negative one and three quarters.

Place the repeating digits inside parentheses. For example, enter 0.(3) for 0.333... or 1.2(34) for 1.2343434...

Perform addition +, subtraction -, multiplication * or ×, division / or ÷, and powers ^. Use parentheses for grouping complex expressions.

Select "Exact mode" to keep results in precise fractional form instead of decimal approximations. This is useful when you want an exact rational output instead of a rounded decimal.

The Fractions & Decimals Calculator lets you enter two numbers, choose an operation, and view the result. The Fraction to Decimal Converter converts a single number into multiple equivalent forms, such as reduced fraction, mixed number, decimal, percent, scientific notation, and LaTeX.

You can convert numbers into:

  • Reduced fraction (lowest terms)
  • Mixed number
  • Decimal (with adjustable precision)
  • Percent
  • Scientific notation
  • LaTeX formatted output

Yes. Open Advanced Options and tick "Prefer improper fractions" to display 7/3 instead of 2 1/3.

Do not enter zero as a denominator. Ensure parentheses in expressions and repeating decimals are closed. The calculator will alert you if the input is invalid.

Use the Fractions & Decimals Calculator to perform arithmetic with fractions, mixed numbers, decimals, or repeating decimals. Use the Fraction to Decimal Converter to view equivalent forms of a single number. Both tools support exact mode and adjustable precision for accurate results.

  • Enter values in the visual input fields or type an expression such as (3/4 + 1.2) × 2 - 1/3.
  • Select an operation from the menu: +, -, ×, ÷, or ^.
  • Choose an output format: Fraction, Mixed Number, or Decimal.
  • Adjust decimal precision with the drop-down menu (2 to 12 places).
  • Enable "Exact mode" to keep results in rational form.
  • Copy results using "Copy Plain Text" or "Copy LaTeX" for use in documents.
  • Use formulas such as fraction to decimal: numerator ÷ denominator.
  • Reverse conversion for decimal to fraction: decimal × denominator = numerator.

Apply the calculators in education, everyday math, and professional work where precise fraction and decimal conversions are required.

  • Check homework and practice problems that involve fractions, mixed numbers, or decimals.
  • Convert recurring decimals such as 0.(3) into exact fractions for teaching or study.
  • Calculate ratios, proportions, and powers in STEM coursework.
  • Adjust recipes or measurements by converting between fractional and decimal units.
  • Prepare LaTeX-ready math output for assignments, research, or publications.
  • Verify calculations in fields such as construction, finance, or engineering where precision matters.
