Cookies and third parties
The short version of the privacy policy: what the site keeps in your browser, what it keeps on its servers, and which outside services are involved. If a statement here and the policy ever disagree, the policy is the one that binds us, and we would like to hear about it.
In your browser
The site sets no cookies of its own. Three kinds of value live in your browser's localStorage, which never leaves your device and which clearing site data removes.

Your answer to the consent banner: analytics on or off, marketing on or off.
Change it any time with the Cookie settings link in the footer, which reopens the dialog. Clearing site data removes it too, and the banner asks again.

Saved tool inputs
Most tools remember your last inputs so the form is pre-filled next time. Each tool's Reset button erases its own saved state. Nothing you type is sent to us.
Third-party cookies, only after you opt in
Google Analytics sets _ga, _ga_* and _gid once you choose Accept all. Google AdSense sets its advertising cookies once you give marketing consent and the site is approved to show ads. Cloudflare, which sits in front of the site, may set a short-lived security cookie when it challenges suspicious traffic.
On our servers
Web server request logs
What: method, URL, response status, IP address, browser user agent, timestamp, for every request.
Why: keeping the site online, blocking abusive traffic, diagnosing errors.
Kept: 14 days, then deleted. The IP address is never copied into the application database.
Anonymous tool view counts
What: that a tool page was viewed, with the path and a timestamp. No identifier of any kind.
Why: ranking the Popular and Trending lists.
Kept: indefinitely, as counts.
Search queries
What: the text you typed into the site search and a timestamp. No IP address or identifier alongside it.
Why: seeing which tools people look for and cannot find.
Feedback you send
What: your message, the page you sent it from, and an email address if you chose to give one.
Where: a spreadsheet we own on Google Workspace, reached through a Google Apps Script endpoint, and mirrored into the site's database so it can be triaged. Google's privacy policy governs the spreadsheet.
What you type into a calculator
Where: your browser tab. It is not transmitted to us as part of the calculation.
A few tools call a public endpoint to do their job, for example the IP lookup tool. The badge under each tool's title says whether it runs entirely in your browser, loads a library from a CDN, or contacts a named service.
Third-party services
Hetzner
Hosting, in Ashburn, Virginia, United States. Receives the request logs described above.
Cloudflare
Edge network in front of the site: caching, DDoS protection, rate limiting. Sees every request before it reaches our server.
Google Analytics
Page views and approximate country, with IP anonymization on. Loads only with analytics consent, and never when your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control.
Google AdSense
Display advertising. Loads only with marketing consent and only once the site has been approved to show ads. Personalization depends on your own Google ad settings.
Fonts are served from kaltask.com, not from a font service. A small number of tools load a JavaScript library from a public CDN; the badge on those tool pages says so.

The Cookie settings link in the footer reopens the consent dialog on any page. The California opt-out page walks through the other routes.
Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
Both signals are honored. With either on, analytics never loads.
