Most of it is arithmetic anyone could do once by hand; the value is doing it forty times in an evening without a transcription error. The mistake that costs people boards is sizing a trace by habit instead of by copper weight and allowed temperature rise, which is why the trace-width tools here ask for both before reporting a width.
