tACOS Calculatorv1.0.0

Computes tACOS as ad spend divided by total revenue × 100, then maps the result onto a four-tier benchmark from Excellent (below 10%) to High (above 25%). When ad-attributed revenue is provided, the tool also returns ACOS (ad spend ÷ ad revenue × 100), ad revenue share, and organic revenue. Inputs accept decimals, fractions, and mixed numbers, with currency symbols and commas stripped on entry and the output symbol configurable.

Measure your Total Advertising Cost of Sale to evaluate how total ad spend relates to your entire revenue, not just revenue directly attributed to ads. Unlike ACOS (Advertising Cost of Sale), which only considers ad-attributed revenue, tACOS gives you a holistic picture of advertising efficiency by factoring in organic sales alongside paid conversions. Use tACOS to understand whether your advertising dollars are driving sustainable growth or creating excessive dependency on paid traffic.

  • Select your preferred Currency Symbol from the dropdown. Choose "Custom" to enter any symbol not listed.
  • Enter your Total Ad Spend for the period you want to analyze. This includes all advertising costs across every channel and campaign. The field accepts decimals, fractions (such as 3/4), mixed numbers (such as 1 1/2), and values with currency symbols or commas, which are automatically stripped.
  • Enter your Total Revenue, which is the sum of all sales revenue during the same period, including both organic and ad-driven sales.
  • Optionally enter your Ad-Attributed Revenue to unlock additional metrics. This is the portion of total revenue directly attributed to your ad campaigns. When provided, the tool calculates your ACOS, organic revenue, and ad revenue share percentage.
  • Click Calculate or simply wait for the auto-calculation to run. Results appear instantly below the form.
  • Review your tACOS percentage alongside the benchmark table to understand where your advertising efficiency stands.
  • Click Reset to clear all fields and start a new calculation. All entered values persist automatically via localStorage, so your inputs remain available if you close and reopen the page.
  • Share pre-filled calculations by using URL query parameters: use s for ad spend, r for total revenue, a for ad-attributed revenue, and c for currency symbol.

The core formula is: tACOS = (Total Ad Spend / Total Revenue) x 100. A decreasing tACOS over time typically indicates that organic sales are growing faster than ad spend, which signals a healthy advertising strategy. Track tACOS alongside ACOS to identify whether ad campaigns are building long-term brand awareness or simply buying short-term conversions.

Sellers, marketers, and business analysts rely on tACOS to gain a complete view of advertising efficiency. Whether you sell on Amazon, run Google Ads, or manage multi-channel e-commerce campaigns, tACOS provides the context that ACOS alone cannot deliver. Below are practical scenarios where this calculator adds value.

  • Amazon Sellers: Evaluate whether your Sponsored Products and Sponsored Brands campaigns are building organic ranking over time. Enter your total Amazon revenue and PPC spend to track tACOS weekly. A declining tACOS with stable ad spend means organic sales are growing.
  • E-commerce Managers: Compare advertising efficiency across different periods. Enter monthly ad spend and total store revenue to identify seasonal trends. Use the ACOS comparison to separate paid performance from organic momentum.
  • PPC Specialists: Justify ad budgets to stakeholders by showing tACOS alongside ACOS. When ACOS appears high but tACOS is low, it demonstrates that ads are driving organic growth beyond direct attribution.
  • Brand Strategists: Measure the long-term impact of awareness campaigns. Enter campaign costs and total brand revenue over a quarter to determine whether upper-funnel spending translates into lower overall cost of sale.
  • Multi-Channel Retailers: Aggregate ad spend from Google, Meta, Amazon, and other platforms against total revenue from all channels. Calculate a unified tACOS to understand blended advertising efficiency rather than evaluating each platform in isolation.
  • Startup Founders: Monitor burn rate on customer acquisition by comparing total marketing spend against all revenue streams. Track tACOS monthly during growth phases to ensure ad dependency decreases as the brand matures.
  • Financial Analysts: Include tACOS in profitability models and investor reports. Calculate organic revenue share to demonstrate the sustainability of revenue mix and the diminishing marginal cost of advertising over time.
