Solves for any of interval, photos, shooting duration, or clip length from the other three (photos = duration ÷ interval, clip length = photos ÷ frame rate). Frame rate selects 24, 25, 30, or 60 fps, and an average-photo-size input (default 25 MB) yields total storage as photos × size. Preset intervals populate the field with one click, from 0.5 seconds (fast traffic) to 3600 seconds (glacial movement).

Determine the exact number of photos to capture, how long to shoot, what interval to use between shots, or the final clip length, depending on which value remains unknown. Each mode also returns an estimated storage requirement so memory cards and disks can be sized before the session begins.

  • Select a Calculation Mode at the top of the tool. Choose Calculate Clip Length, Calculate Shooting Duration, Calculate Interval, or Calculate Number of Photos depending on which value needs to be determined.
  • Enter known values in the input fields. Numeric fields accept fractions such as 1/2, mixed numbers such as 2 1/4, decimals, and scientific notation.
  • Set the Video Frame Rate to match the intended output format. Options include 24 fps for cinema, 25 fps for PAL broadcast, 30 fps for NTSC, and 60 fps for high frame rate output.
  • Use the Suggested Intervals preset buttons to populate the interval field with common values for clouds, sunsets, stars, construction, and other typical subjects.
  • Click Calculate or wait for the auto-calculation to run after typing pauses. Results appear below the input section.
  • Open the Settings panel from the action-button row to set the average photo file size for storage estimates and to enable the step-by-step formula display for educational reference.
  • Use the Reset button to clear all saved values and return to defaults. Share a configuration by copying the URL after calculation, since every parameter is encoded into the address bar.

The underlying formulas are straightforward. Number of Photos equals Shooting Duration divided by Interval. Final Clip Length equals Number of Photos divided by Frame Rate. Reverse rearrangements solve for the unknown variable in any other mode, and storage is estimated as Number of Photos multiplied by the configured average file size.
